History

Echo Us is an ever evolving musical jigsaw puzzle started by Ethan Matthews in late 2000 upon the hiatus of Greyhaven, a heavy progressive electronic music act he formed in late 1996.

With Greyhaven Ethan established himself as someone with a vision for modern metal music by bringing unconventional synthetic textures and atmospheres to progressive metal / rock. Released in March of 2000 Greyhaven's self-titled cd was quite successful at a time when progressive rock was making a bit of a come-back. Greyhaven added to that spectrum.

Echo Us keeps the creative ideology and progress of Ethan's former work but moves it away from the bombast of heavy rock and metal towards more assessable melodies and a sort of 'energetic intimacy' if you will. Lyrical ideas are most often short, to the point, aiming to rouse and stimulate rather than meditate.
