Echo Us plays goth trip-hop that sounds like a less inventive Massive Attack fronted by New Order's Bernard Sumner or a much wimpier version of Nine Inch Nails; it's surprisingly good and would go over gangbusters with the unlovable vampire-fanged crowd praying for rain at a club like Manray. Echo Us' vocals are very warm and inviting and the music behind them has a human sound despite being created primarily with synths and programming. Matthews and Cahoon have a great sense of structure and pop melody and never let the arrangements become cluttered or overlong, and the EP is a perfect length to leave the listener wanting more. - Mike Baldino
